How much?

We offer a 40% discount on 2 or more class series per term when purchased together. To get the discount you must add a second class to the cart and apply the coupon code at checkout.

40% Discount when booking 2 or more class series per term

  • In any one transaction get 40% off all items in your cart when booking 2 or more class series per term. This even applies to the Earlybird price!
  • To get the discount the coupon code F2MCLASS40 must be used in your cart. Classes are non-transferable and subject to availability. Online classes are interchangeable between series.
  • The โ€œ+ Recordingsโ€ upgrade need only be purchased once, with one of the items in your cart. Then it gives access to all recordings of all classes for that term.
  • After the classes start, late bookings can have the prices adjusted pro-rata if 5 or more weeks are booked at once. This can be arranged by phone or in person with a $10 booking fee. Subject to availability.
  • Please see our terms and conditions for our refund policy. Zoom links will be sent by email once booked.
  • If you make a mistake with your order we can sort it out by phone, email or in person during our business hours.
  • $36 per class, multiplied by the minimum number of weeks, when booking a full term at the Early Bird rate or $38 per class after EB ends. Select the option “Recordings only” to get the universal price.

  • Do Jodie’s Feldenkrais lessons in your own time in the privacy and comfort of your own home. You will receive a link to the folder containing all Jodie’s class recordings for the term, updated within the few minutes of the class finish time
  • Access the folder anytime or wait for Jodie to email you with ‘best of’ recording links’ (approximately once a week). Ali’s classes are currently not being recorded.

Awareness Through Movement Classes (incorporating Feldenkrais)

Release anxiety, unwind physical and mental tension and gently ease aches and pains with these very relaxing classes. Principal Physiotherapist Jodie Krantz leads you through a series of ‘Awareness Through Movement’ lessons based on the Feldenkrais Method. The classes are held online using the Zoom app. Lessons are intertwined with relaxation and mindfulness practices. During an Awareness Through Movement lesson you are guided through a series of movements designed to enhance your awareness of your body. Each week we explore a different movement theme. Most classes begin with a body scan and some physiotherapy test movements, followed by a Feldenkrais lesson. We usually finish each class with a guided relaxation that you can do either sitting or lying down. You need to bring your own extra wide mat as well as 2 thick towels or a blanket to each class. Extra wide (Feldenkrais) mats are usually thicker and wider than most exercise mats for more information and availablility please ask Keren at Free2Move.

In these classes you will:

  • Become more aware of your tension habits and the way the anxiety and stress manifest in your body
  • Learn to move in a way that releases pain and tension
  • Be guided through relaxation sequences that help to centre you in the present
  • Improve your flexibility, posture and coordination

How Awareness Through Movement Works to Release Stress and Tension

Each of us develop habitual patterns of muscle tension in response to stress. Some people hunch and tense their shoulders. Others clench or grind their teeth, hold their breath or tighten their lower back. To let go of pain and tension first you need to become aware or your habits. You can then find alternatives that work better for you. An important component of our classes is the Feldenkrais Method, which improves your ability to sense your body. It helps you detect tension and to let it go before it becomes a source of pain. As you become more aware of your body, you learn to move in a way that is comfortable, fluid, effortless and even graceful.

Assessment Recommended

Those with pain or movement issues are advised to attend an individual assessment with Jodie before coming to their first class. This way you can be assured of a safe and comfortable experience at the classes. In addition, if you want to claim through private health insurance you need to attend an individual assessment to set goals for the classes.
