The Architecture of Ease

A Monday Night Online Masterclass Series — 2026

The Architecture of Ease is a series of online Monday night Masterclasses led by physiotherapist and Feldenkrais practitioner Jodie Krantz. Based on the Feldenkrais Method, each session blends applied anatomy with guided Awareness Through Movement lessons to clarify how the body’s biomechanics shape balance, coordination, and ease.

Rather than treating stiffness, discomfort, or instability as isolated problems, we look at how everyday movement habits influence joint alignment, load transfer, and muscular effort. Small biomechanical shifts — in how the feet meet the ground, how the knees rotate, or how the pelvis supports the spine — can dramatically change the way forces travel through the body. When we slow down and pay attention, the brain can reorganise these habits, improving function and creating more comfort in everyday movement.

Throughout the series, we explore how different regions work together as an adaptable system: how the feet influence the knees and hips, how the pelvis shapes spinal support, and how the upper body responds when the foundations are clear. Through gentle, well‑structured lessons, you’ll learn to sense these relationships and refine the way you move so everyday actions feel lighter, more stable, and more coordinated.

The Architecture of Ease is about taking time to understand how we’re put together — not in an abstract way, but through the practical mechanics of how we stand, walk, reach, and breathe. It’s an invitation to explore your body’s organisation in an embodied, functional way, and to discover how ease emerges when structure and function are aligned.

Across the series, we’ll explore:

  • Feet & Ankles — transformation from the ground up – recording of March Masterclass available soon
  • Knees — pillars of fluid support – recording of March Masterclass available soon
  • Happy Hips — strength, balance and freedom of movement
  • Pelvic Comfort — fluid, comfortable movement with smooth, even control
  • Lower Back Ease — understand how your postural habits affect comfort
  • A Flexible Chest — spacious, adaptable movement through the ribs
  • The Spine — dynamic axis of support and adaptability
  • Breath, Voice and Posture — integrated support from the inside out
  • Neck and Shoulders — from tension to lightness and ease
  • Hands and Arms — effortless reach and refined coordination
  • Head and Neck — clarity, balance and ease in orientation

Together, these explorations help you see that strain usually comes from how you’re organising yourself, not from something being “wrong.” By adjusting how you support and coordinate your movements, you can find more efficient pathways. Those small changes often lead to more greater stability, improved posture, easier movement, and more comfort in daily life.

Session 1: Feet and Ankles — Transformation from the Ground Up

Date: Monday 9 February, 6:00–7:30 PM – Recordings available soon

Our feet and ankles are living foundations. When they shift, the whole body reorganises. In this opening session, you’ll explore how freeing the ankles can change the load‑bearing of the knees and hips, creating a ripple of ease through posture, balance, and breathing.
Led by physiotherapist and Feldenkrais practitioner Jodie, the evening blends applied anatomy with guided movement lessons in standing, sitting, and lying down. You’ll discover how the arches and edges of the feet shape balance and support, and how transformation truly begins from the ground up.

Session 2: Knees — Bridges of Fluid Support

Date: Monday 16 February, 6:00–7:30 PM – Recordings available soon

The knees are not simple hinges. They can rotate and adapt, transmitting forces between the grounded ankles and the spacious hips. Yet tension often prevents this rotation, leaving the knees vulnerable to strain and wear.
In this session, you’ll explore how to reduce that tension, restore neutral alignment, and discover how the knees can act as true bridges of fluid support.
The evening includes two guided lessons: Knees as Flexible Pillars of Support and Circles Around the knees

Session 3: Happy Hips

Date: Monday 13th April, 6:00–7:30 PM

Strong, flexible hips are essential for balance, walking, and everyday comfort. Many people are told to “strengthen their glutes,” yet one or both sides often aren’t activating effectively—and simply doing exercises once a day rarely changes how we move in real life.

In this online Masterclass, we’ll gently explore how to activate the glutes in a way that supports everyday activities, making strength feel natural rather than forced. Through experiential anatomy, we’ll clarify the architecture of the hip joints and how they’re designed to share load with ease. Two Feldenkrais lessons will help you rediscover supple, responsive hips, with time set aside for questions.

Session 4: Pelvic Strength and Comfort

Date: Monday 22nd June, 6:00–7:30 PM

The pelvis is a central architectural hub for posture, breath, balance, and ease. Many people try to “strengthen the pelvic floor,” yet these vital muscles work best when they’re part of a whole‑body conversation rather than isolated effort.

In this online Masterclass, we’ll explore the pelvic floor through gentle experiential anatomy and a Feldenkrais lesson designed to help you sense and organise these deep muscles with clarity and comfort. A second lesson will highlight how much ease becomes available when the pelvis connects fluidly with the spine, ribs, and legs. You’ll come away with a calmer, more integrated sense of support, with time set aside for questions and personal clarification.

Session 5: Lower Back Ease

Date: Monday 29th June, 6:00–7:30 PM

Many people live with lower‑back discomfort without realising how their habitual postural tendencies contribute to strain. In this online Masterclass, participants will learn to recognise the patterns they return to automatically—and whether those patterns are helping or aggravating their symptoms.

Through experiential anatomy, we’ll explore which directions of movement naturally bring ease and which tend to provoke tension. Two Feldenkrais lessons will gently guide you toward a clearer, more supportive organisation of the spine, pelvis, and ribs, helping the lower back feel less burdened and more available for everyday life. There will be time for questions.
