The Architecture of Ease

A Monday Night Online Series — 2026

Our bodies are living structures, shaped by foundations, bridges, pivots, and gateways. When one element strains, the whole architecture feels misaligned. But with awareness and gentle exploration, we can remodel this structure into one of resilience, spaciousness, and ease.

The Architecture of Ease is a series of online Monday night workshops led by physiotherapists and Feldenkrais practitioners Jodie and Alison McIntosh. Each session blends applied anatomy with guided movement lessons, uncovering how different parts of the body contribute to balance, confidence, and freedom.
Across the series, we’ll explore:

  • Feet & Ankles — transformation from the ground up
  • Knees — bridges of fluid support
  • Hips & Pelvis — spacious pivots for freedom
  • Spine — the central column of adaptability
  • Shoulders & Neck — gateways to lightness and breath

Together, these explorations reveal how the body’s architecture isn’t faulty when it feels strained — it’s simply misaligned. By shifting foundations and rediscovering neutral pathways, you’ll experience how ease can ripple through posture, movement, and daily life.

Session 1: Feet and Ankles — Transformation from the Ground Up

Date: Monday 9 February, 6:00–7:30 PM

Our feet and ankles are living foundations. When they shift, the whole body reorganises. In this opening session, you’ll explore how freeing the ankles can change the load‑bearing of the knees and hips, creating a ripple of ease through posture, balance, and breathing.
Led by physiotherapist and Feldenkrais practitioner Jodie, the evening blends applied anatomy with guided movement lessons in standing, sitting, and lying down. You’ll discover how the arches and edges of the feet shape balance and support, and how transformation truly begins from the ground up.

Session 2: Knees — Bridges of Fluid Support

Date: Monday 16 February, 6:00–7:30 PM

The knees are not simple hinges. They can rotate and adapt, transmitting forces between the grounded ankles and the spacious hips. Yet tension often prevents this rotation, leaving the knees vulnerable to strain and wear.
In this session, you’ll explore how to reduce that tension, restore neutral alignment, and discover how the knees can act as true bridges of fluid support.
The evening includes two guided lessons:

  • With Jodie, you’ll release the tension that limits knee rotation and sense the ankle–knee–hip connection.
  • With Alison McIntosh, physiotherapist and Feldenkrais practitioner, you’ll use awareness of the toes to organise the knees and hips, while finding stability that builds confidence in everyday actions like crouching or squatting.
